The UCLA football team is bowl eligible after their win over Cal, the question now is “which bowl are the Bruins going to and who will they face?”

It has been an emotional week for UCLA football fans. First, the coach was fired, then the Bruins became bowl eligible (a year after missing the postseason) and then the week was topped off by the hiring of Chip Kelly.

Needless to say, there has been a lot to cover, but let us bring it back to the field. Despite everything else going on, the Bruins are going bowling.

After taking down Cal last Friday at the Rose Bowl, the Bruins snagged their sixth win. UCLA is now bowl eligible, but they have to wait, at least until the weekend to find out where they will play and who they will take on in their last battle of 2017.

Unfortuatetly, the Bruins are not in line to play in one of the traditional Pac-12 associated bowl games as the Alamo, Holiday or Sun. Because they barely snuck into their eligibilty, they will be picked up as an “at-large” bid. Here are what some of the major sports news outlets are projecting for the Bruins:

UCLA Football Bowl and Opponent Projections

ESPN: Independence Bowl, Shreveport, LA, Dec 27 – UCLA vs. Florida State

SI.com: Independence Bowl – UCLA vs. Boston College

CBS: Heart of Dallas Bowl, Dallas, TX, Dec 26 – UCLA vs. Texas

SB Nation: Heart of Dallas Bowl – UCLA vs. Texas Tech

Sporting News: Frisco Bowl, Frisco, TX, Dec 20 – UCLA vs. Wyoming

Athlon Sports: Frisco Bowl – UCLA vs. Houston

Bleacher Report: Liberty Bowl, Memphis, TN, Dec 30 – UCLA vs. West Virginia

Of course, this is all speculation. We won’t know where exactly UCLA plays until after this weekend’s conference championships and College Football Playoff rankings are in, but it gives us a glimpse of where we could see the Bruins play their final game of the season. Who wants to bet they play in Texas?
