The UCLA Football Bruins welcome the Oregon Ducks into the Rose Bowl today. If you don’t have tickets to the game don’t fret. Here are some Oregon craft beer you can enjoy at home with the game on.

Maybe you don’t have season tickets or maybe you were aren’t sold on the UCLA Football defense’s ability to slow the Oregon running game and so you stayed home. Either way you’re going to need some really good craft beer to either help you celebrate a surprise win or to help you numb some of the heart ache. One thing’s for sure, you’ll certainly be happy with these beers no matter how the game turns out.

Let’s start out with an Oregon classic.

Deschutes Brewing has been a staple in the Pacific Northwest for years and produces a wide range of beer styles. Jordan Scott has been a name to remember for the Ducks. He’s a strong nose tackle that will give the interior of this UCLA Football OL a fight to remember. Scott is thick and strong but possesses surprising athleticism. Much like Scott, Deschutes’ Obsidian Stout appears thick and actually has a great bold mouthfeel with roasted coffee and dark chocolate notes but with a surprising drinkability.

Maybe you’re not in the mood for something so bold. Oregon RB Royce Freeman is a bowling ball of a runner but isn’t the biggest guy to ever tote the rock for the Ducks. A certain LeGarrette Blount comes to mind. Rogue Brewing has a beer that is much like Freeman. Rogue Dead Guy Ale. Closest to a traditional German Maibock, a little heavier than an amber ale. Not the biggest or boldest beer you’ll ever have but certainly packing enough flavor to trample light beer taste buds.

UCLA Football QB Josh Rosen has some of the best mechanics you’ll ever see. They’re compact, efficient and crisp. He’s going to need that quick and efficient release against an Oregon defense that ranks second in the nation in sacks. Now this next beer might require a little more hunting on your part but Double Mountain Brewing makes a Rosen-esque West Coast IPA that is up there with some greats. Hop Lava is brewed with traditional North West hop varieties that make for a clean, crisp mouth feel with a solid malt backbone.
