Here at Go Joe Bruin, we not only focus on UCLA Football, but look at their opponents, especially with Pac-12 Football which kicks off early as Stanford tries to get up down under and Oregon State looks to not get rammed.

College Football is back! The UCLA Football team, like most FBS schools, do not start until next week, but things kickoff early in “Week 0”, especially with a few Pac-12 Football games.

RELATED: The Go Joe Bruin 2017 UCLA Football Season Preview

Every week, Go Joe Bruin will not only preview the Bruins, but give a quick run down of the teams that will impact UCLA’s season, especially those in the Pac-12 Conference. So let us take a quick gander at two games that start off the 2017 season:

Oregon State at Colorado State, 11:30 a.m. PT (CBS)

The Beavers start the season with a good matchup against a Mountain West team team that is expected to finish in the top half of the standings in 2017. Colorado State (which is picked to finish 2nd in the MW behind Boise State by College Football News) has a good offense that should will be running on all cylinders. Oregon State is still trying to right themselves under third-year coach Gary Anderson. Though they are showing improvement, there is the belief that they will continue to be a Pac-12 cellar dweller as they were chosen to finish 5th in the Pac-12 North Division.

#14 Stanford Cardinal vs. Rice Owls, 7 p.m. (ESPN) in Australia

Studying abroad has been a thing for quite a while and now playing abroad is a thing. After last season’s opener with Cal beating Hawaii 51-31 in Sydney, Australia, another Pac-12 Football team returns to open the season down under. Stanford begins their season against Rice in the marquee game for Week 0. Even though the Cardinal should roll over the Owls, it is good for UCLA and Pac-12 Football fans to get their first look at one of the conference’s powerhouses.

Other notable games in Week 0:

Hawaii at UMASS, 3 p.m. – If you can view this game in your area, watch for the Warriors who will take on UCLA in Week 2 at the Rose Bowl. Though the Bruins should get a “W”, one always needs to properly scout future opponents and Hawaii could have some surprises.
