Eddie Gran

Wait, who?

Hear me out folks, Eddie Gran is a name that should be on the radar and for good reason. In 2016 he took a longtime lowly University of Kentucky Wildcats offense and had them average 29 points a game.

Against SEC opponents the Wildcats were 4-4 and averaged 23 against those opponents last year. Not an easy feat given the defenses that roam in the SEC. Against Alabama and Florida the Wildcats were held to a combined 13 points but the overall results are impressive.

He’s had a number of stops over his career including time at Auburn, Cincinnati, Florida State and Tennessee.

When he was the offensive coordinator with the Bearcats of Cincinnati Gran directed an explosive offense that averaged 460 yards a game in 2014.

As UK’s assistant head coach/offensive coordinator/running backs coach, Gran is a offensive master of the spread with 28 years of college coaching experience. Another successful season will get him even more attention across the CFB landscape.

Oh and another major perk with Gran…he’s an ace recruiter no matter where he goes.

Next: Pandering to LaVar Ball got a female ref removed from a game, and it will get worse

While he is an unlikely candidate for the job given his loyalty to head coach Mark Stoops, thinking about what the UCLA Football program could do with his offensive mindset should get Bruin fans excited.

Of course these head coach options are purely hypothetical…
