After after the last two season when UCLA Football quarterback Josh Rosen made headlines due to his actions and words, he has been relatively quiet… until now.

This morning, the junior QB Josh Rosen talked to the media for the first time since last season when the UCLA Football team went 4-8. Part of that was due to Rosen sustaining a shoulder injury in Game 6 which kept him out for the remainder of the season.

Today, Rosen finally talked to the media as him and the Bruins prepare for the 2017 campaign, which begins in a little over a month.

So with the offense in transition and the Manhattan Beach, CA native being “quieter” on social media and staying out of the headlines, Rosen spoke bluntly with the media.

The talks started when a reporter asked about his take of the progression of the team in the off-season, “incredibly productive off-season. It went well and looking forward to coming into camp.”

Rosen was then asked by another reporter about possibly having a “lower profile” and if it was intentional. Rosen responded, “More or less, live my life.”

That did not seem to appease the reporter who continued on the topic and asked if he is making conscious effort to be quieter, “Not too much. I haven’t said anything stupid on social media, for the most part. Just kind of doing the grind, focusing and working out.”

When pushed by the same reporter about whether he was intentionally being quieter, Rosen stated, “It really wasn’t like a definitive, ‘I’m going to do X, Y, Z.’ I just tuned out a little bit.”

The questions got back on track to UCLA Football when a different reporter asked about the offense, “It’s exciting. I love Coach Fisch. I think we are heading in the right direction.”

Rosen expanded on that when asked why he believes UCLA has a chance to turn things around, “I think there is a different energy in the locker room. Everyone is ready to attack the year. We are supremely confident.”

Offensive lie and running game, Rosen talked about how vital of an addition RT Sunny Odogwu (he is a graduate transfer that adds immediate depth to the O-line) and how the coaches have been very good at identifying strengths and “taylor the offense” to those strengths.

Even though it was not TMZ-worthy, Rosen continued to do a fine job carrying himself and should continue to do so on the field this fall.
