It may be a week until the Bruins take on the Texas A&M Aggies at Kyle Field, but if yu are like me, you will take any kind of college football. So if you need your college football fix, we are hear to tell you that there is one this Friday night as the California Golden Bears and the Hawaii Warriors start the college football season playing from the Land Down Under.
Not only is this a chance for college football fans to take in their beloved sport, but is also a chance for UCLA football fans to scout a team they will be playing later in the season. To be more specific, UCLA and Cal play in the final game of the regular season, so there is a long way to go but it is always good to know your opponent.

Where: ANZ Stadium, Sydney, Australia (Cap.: 83,500)

What to Expect: Football! Pure, freshly cut college footbal! Cal is transitioning to a new era after the departure of the #1 overall draft pick QB Jared Goff. The Bears also lose several key receivers and defensemen, so look for a lot of youth to take the field for Head Coach Sonny Dykes.
For Hawaii, they are still trying to find their niche, but having three head coaches in five years does not help stability. The Warriros will look to senior Ikaika Woolsey at quarterback to help find an identity, but will it be enough to win more than three games this season?
What UCLA Football fans should look for: As a team the Bruins will be playing in the future, it is good to keep tabs on them, especially with a week before the regular season gets into full swing. Cal is not expected to do well this season after losing a lot of players on offense and defense, but Dykes believes the Bears could open a few eyes.
The UCLA Football team should not take that much stock into this game as they will see a completely different team in November. Still, it is important to know the components of a team, and besides, who isn’t going to watch the first game of the new season?
