The Bracket

Italics denote a First Four matchup. The bracket is assembled in accordance with the official 2015-16 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship principles and procedures for establishing the bracket. You can compare these projections with those of other bracketologists nationwide at the Bracket Matrix.

Congratulations to Austin PeayYaleNorthern IowaUNC-Asheville, and Florida Gulf Coast on being the first five teams to lock up a spot in the tournament. Their respective seedings in their conference tournaments were 8, N/A, 4, 4, 4. This is bad news for upset-lovers.

This year was supposed to be the craziest year ever, since all the top teams are relatively weak. The problem is, the bottom teams are also relatively weak. FGCU ruined our best shot at seeing a 16-seed finally win; North Florida over Villanova was quickly becoming a sexy pick.

On a separate note: St. Bonaventure! The Bonnies are finally in it! Get ready to fall in love with the next Ali Farokhmanesh, Marcus Posley. Remember that name for next week (if they even make it that far).

MONDAY NIGHT UPDATE: Monmouth‘s loss vs Iona will keep them out of the tournament. For every good Hawks win you can show me (USC, Notre Dame, UCLA) I can show you a bad Hawks loss (CanisiusArmyManhattan)

Valparaiso‘s loss vs UW-Green Bay makes thinks very uncomfortable for the Crusaders, but Larry Drew‘s team is currently projected to be among the last four teams to make the tournament.
