The neutral onlooker of the upcoming Oregon quarterback battle between Vernon Adams and Jeff Lockie (not to be confused with former UCLA punter and current Minnesota Viking Jeff Locke) should root for Adams. Adams transferred from Eastern Washington, an FCS powerhouse that one-upped Boise State, and would be face his former team in his first game with his new team should he win the starting job.

Now that Marcus Mariota is gone, Oregon’s goal shouldn’t be to win a National Championship, it should be to hold on to the Pac-12 Championship.
