Michael Pittman Jr, son of former NFL Back Michael Pittman, has de-committed from UCLA and reopened his recruitment. He announced the move via twitter this afternoon:
"I’m announcing my decommit from UCLA. I appreciate everything they have done for me and I wish them the best.— Michael pittman (@MIkepitt32) June 10, 2015 I’m announcing my decommit from UCLA. UCLA Bruins
Pittman Jr is a WR/DB entering his Senior season at Oaks Christian High School, and the scuttlebutt is that he may be Oregon bound after a trip to the Pacific Northwest. According to Duck Territory of 247Sports, the move was not unexpected after the Ducks pursuit of Pittman warmed up, and the Oregonian OregonLive blog also speculated on Pittman’s possible flip prior to his Oregon trip. Pittman may be drawn to the Ducks at least in part because Oregon will be willing to play him on defense.
GoJoeBruin Recruiting Analyst Michael Hanna believes the Bruins will miss obviously Pittman’s freak athleticism, but he thinks Pittman may get caught between positions. He could grow himself out of being a wide receiver or defensive back and he may be reluctant to move to linebacker.
Pittman’s change of heart coincides with the commintment of Dymond Lee to the Bruins. Although Lee has committed as a QB, Hanna and others speculate that he may end up as a WR (ala Devin Fuller) when its all said and done.
… so the yin and yang of College Football recruiting rolls on …
