11. Mike Leach, Washington State Cougars

Record: 12-25 at Washington State, 96-68 overall

It is hard to tell if Leach is a good coach or not, at least up at Washington State. He has an incredible passing game (which barely utilizes a run game) and has been fairly successful with it. But then you look at the defense and the in-game planning and realize why he is this low on our Pac-12 football coaches rankings.

Leach has some good ideas but with out the personnel or the coaching, he has not been able to do much up in the Palouse. Heading into his fourth year, Leach needs more than a few signature wins against middle-of-the-road Pac-12 teams. He needs a lot of signature wins against middle-of-the-road Pac-12 teams and maybe a “W” against Oregon or Stanford. That will at least keep the flame under his seat at a minimum.
