Early this morning, UCLA commit, 5-star running back Soso Jamabo (whose real name is Sotonye Josiah Jamabo) out of Plano, Texas, was arrested. The #1 running back in the nation was detained by Kaufman County Sheriffs and booked on six counts.
According to the Dallas Morning News, Jamabo was arrested for “evading arrest with a vehicle, minor consumption of alcohol, minor in possession of alcohol, speeding, driving without possessing a driver’s license and disregarding a stop sign”.
Needless to say, this is not good for the Bruin-to-be. Apparently these events all happened after the Plano West High School senior prom in which Jamabo reportedly attended. As for UCLA, they had a brief comment on the situation.

Though Jamabo is not yet with the program, you can be sure that head coach Jim Mora will address this situation with the future Bruin. Mora has been know to be a disciplinarian when it comes to his players not living up to their expectations. Though he deeply cares for all his players, he has also been a no-nonsense coach in regards to handling issues off the field.
Jamabo was a steal for UCLA back on National Signing Day as he chose the Bruins over programs like Notre Dame and Texas. He was a highly-sout out recruit by many programs in the nation, though decided to take his talents to UCLA where the Bruins had one of the best running teams in the Pac-12 Conference.
I hate to use the term, “kids will be kids” given the situation after prom, but Jamabo needs to the learn from the severity of this situation. It is one thing to act a certain way after a celebratory high school function, but it will be completely different when Jamabo gets to UCLA where all eyes will be on him.
