5. The Quarterback Competition

And last but not least… The QB Competition. Last week Jim Mora said that the competition could be trimmed down to two or three players, though a few things have delayed that decision this week. But going into Saturday’s Spring Showcase, we could definitely see the finalists for the starting spot.

So will it be Mike Fafaul? Jerry Neuheisel? Asiantii Woulard? Or freshman Josh Rosen? At this point, I do not even think the UCLA Football coaches know who they want as a finalist for the starting job, but that could change this week. The problem is, all of them have been really solid in Spring Practice. With such a tough competition going, each QB is giving it their all and pushing the others to improve..

If Mora decides to split the team up like he did last year, it will be interesting to see which two QBs will be on the first-team offense (or who is the #1 QB for the first-team and second-team). Hopefully we find out that decision with whoever takes the most first-team reps this week going into the Spring Showcase.
