UCLA just keeps beating USC. That continued this past Wednesday when the UCLA Men’s Basketball’s 85-75 win and the UCLA Women’s Tennis 4-3 victory extended the Bruin’s lead over the Trojans in the BMW Crosstown Cup. UCLA currently leads 75-20. It is the largest lead either school has had since the competition was started back in 2001.

The BMW Crosstown Cup tallies the victories of both Athletic Departments across all sports during the 2014-15 school year. So far, the Bruins have won 16 head-to-head match-ups whilst the Trojans have won 2. Different sports are awarded different set points which is added to the University’s total score. The first school to 100 points wins the Crosstown Cup Trophy.
With nine more contests between UCLA and USC remaining in the year, it seems like the Bruins might be close to the biggest margin of victory in the history of the Crosstown Cup.
The remaining games will be played by Baseball, Men’s and Women’s Golf, Men’s and Women’s Track and Field, Men’s and Women’s Tennis, Men’s Volleyball and Women’s Water Polo. Though we should be expecting a lot more fireworks from these coming games, here are some of the top UCLA victories over the Trojans this season:
3. UCLA Football Runs L.A., Still
The UCLA football team beat the USC Trojans for the third straight year in a 38-20 victory at the Rose Bowl. Seriously, there are no other words than, “UCLA runs L.A. Everybody knows that.”

2. Women’s Soccer Is #1 In Your Hearts… And In The Pac-12
The Bruins dominated the Trojans on November 7 in a 2-0 win. The Coliseum was the venue of choice for this contest which was made a bit tougher to the credit of USC fans as they set a NCAA record for attendance with 10,128. Though the Trojan faithful’s effort were in full effect, it could not help their team as they fell to the Bruins who went on to win the game, go undefeated in the regular season and clinch the Pac-12 Conference title. Yeah, that just happened.

1. The Revenge of Men’s Water Polo
One of the few UCLA losses to USC this season was by the Men’s Water Polo team when they lost 6-10 on October 12. The two teams met three more times that season with the Bruins winning every one, especially their final meeting when UCLA won 9-8 in the National Championship which snapped USC’s six year reign. It was also the Water Polo team’s 9th and school’s 112th championship.
The most in the NCAA.
