UCLA Basketball To Wear Uniforms Inspired By 1965 Championship Team On January 31 Versus Colorado
On January 31 at Pauley Pavilion in their game against the Colorado Buffaloes, the UCLA Bruins basketball team will be wearing uniforms made by Adidas that are inspired by those of the 1965 Championship team. The Heritage Classic uniform, as UCLABruins.com states, “celebrates the rich tradition of UCLA Basketball… blending the best of past and present”, sans the short shorts.

As you can see, the throwback feel of the uniform captures the essence of the Bruin’s jerseys as they were 50 years ago. The main features are both the fonts and colors that differ from the modern uniforms. Instead of “UCLA”, the name across the front will be “BRUINS”. The white jersey will still have blue and gold trim, but the blue will be darker than they current color scheme. Additionally, “NCAA CHAMPS 1965” is written on the collar.
Along with the jerseys, UCLA will honor both the 1964 and 1965 championship teams at halftime. For those that do not know UCLA basketball history, those were the first two champions that UCLA ever won and were the first two of ten captured under former head coach John R. Wooden.
Go Bruins!
