What was it that Brett Hundley said? It was something about running a city… LA, perhaps? I cannot put my finger on it. Oh yeah, that is it! After the #20 UCLA Women’s Volleyball team wrecked the #9 USC Trojans in three sets to sweep the women from south central, they paraphrased it quite nicely.

In their Pac-12 Conference opener, UCLA beat USC 25-23, 25-13, 27-25 to blind-side the favored Trojans. Senior Karsta Lowe lead the attack to pounce on USC over and over as she finished the night with 22 kills.

More from UCLA Bruins

UCLA was in control the entire match but had a scare in the last set. With the Bruins up for the majority of the third battle, USC had charged back and even took a very late 26-25 lead. Fortunately, Lowe and Reily Buechler unloaded their arsenal on the scampering Trojans and ended their misery with the final two pints of the set. The #9 team went down with three big blows and like that, their day was bRuined.

What this also did was put UCLA ahead of USC in the BMW Crosstown Cup. Additionally, head coach Michael Sealy won his 100th game in charge of UCLA.

Congratulations and Go Bruins!
