The former Bruin had an incredible season with the Oklahoma City Thunder as he ended his season averaging a triple double with 31.6 points per game, 10.7 rebounds and 10.4 assists.
Speaking of triple-doubles, Westbrook now holds the NBA record for most triple-doubles in one season (42) and most points ever in a triple double (57). The newest MVP also led the Thunder to a 47-35 record and a playoff berth, though they unfortunately lost in the first round.
This was not an easy Most Valuable Player to award. Westbrook was in good company among the finalists as Houston’s James Harden and San Antonio’s Kawhi Leonard were also in contention. But in the end, the choice was clear, Westbrook is your MVP.
