The UCLA Football team added a huge piece today as former 4-star and Michigan transfer, TE Devin Asiasi, is now a Bruin.

After one year at Michigan, tight end Devin Asiasi will transfer and land a spot with the UCLA Football team, a program that he was considering back in 2016.

This is an absolutely massive pickup for UCLA, both literally and figuratively.

Tipping the scales at over 270 pounds, Asiasi is an absolute giant whose body seems to project better on the defensive line, but whose tight end skills wowed high school recruiting observers who were shocked that a player his size can run and catch the way that he does. It also goes without saying that Asiasi is a devastating blocker from the tight end position as well.

Asiasi is extremely tight with UCLA defensive tackle Boss Tagaloa, who was Asiasi’s teammate at powerhouse high school program De La Salle High School (Concord, CA).

That was likely a huge factor in motivating Asiasi to pick UCLA as his destination after he decided to transfer from Michigan.

Asiasi also has experience playing under new offensive coordinator Jedd Fisch, who also jumped from Ann Arbor to Westwood this offseason, so that familiarity will help him hit the ground running and put him in a prime position to win the starting tight end job when he becomes eligible to play in the 2018 season.

Asiasi had only played in two games at Michigan. He had two receptions for a total of 18 yards and 1 touchdown.
