In episode 61 of the What’s Bruin Show podcast, hosts Bill ShirleyJake Merrifield and I welcome back guest host and now LA Sports Hub writer Jamaal Artis as we talk about everything under the sun in the world of sports, though we stay true to our main focus of UCLA football and basketball.

We start the show by talking about the latest NFL Draft where 3 Bruins were drafted and 3 more signed contracts as un-drafetd free agents. We also talk about head coach Jim Mora‘s appearance on the BROCast and have some very important take aways. After that, Go Joe Bruin writer Michael Hanna joins us on the What’s Bruin Hotline to update us on the recent UCLA football recruits.

In the second part of the show we shift gears to talk about the future of UCLA basketball and how the Bruins might be saved by commitments in the 2016 class. Jamaal helps us out to compare that to Cal’s recent success int the recruiting department as they landed a commitment from a high school kid that had scorned the Bruins the week before his ledge to the Golden Bears.

We also welcome back the “Sports Godfather” Jim Bendat who takes over ‘What’s Going Down At The Morgan Center’ and tells us of recent baseball and softball highs and some water polo lows.

If that was not enough, we bring back the segment ‘LA Sports Express as we talk about ‘Deflategate’, NBA and NHL playoffs and rooting interests in both.

WARNING! SPOILER ALERT! During the ‘What’s Bruin With You’ segment, I talk about the second to last episode of Mad Men, so skip ahead if you do not want your mind blown.
