It was another eventful NFL Draft for the UCLA Football as three Bruins got picked up and three more signed as un-drafted free agents. Here is a quick recap of what happened this weekend with UCLA Football in the NFL Draft:

Eric Kendricks – 45th pick, 2nd Round, selected by the Minnesota Vikings

I think the Vikings knew exactly what they were doing when they selected Kendricks. They just matched him up with former teammate and fellow Lott IMPACT Trophy award winner Anthony Barr.  Though Minnesota was a middle-of-the-road defensive team last season, they are sure to find some unity and improve with the addition of Kendricks.

Owamagbe Odighizuwa – 74th pick, 3rd Round, selected by the New York Giants

Oh Wow! The Giants just got stronger up front. Odighizuwa is the kind of player that you want on your defensive line. He is fearless, he does not quit and can chase down smaller opponents for a big guy. The former Bruin defensive end should stay at that position, though it was rumored New York might try him at linebacker. Trust us “G Men”, you want this guy playing on the edge of the line, he is ferocious.

Brett Hundley – 147th pick, 5th Round, selected by the Green Bay Packers

It says something about a player when a team quickly tries to trade up to acquire them. That is exactly what happened when the Packers saw an opportunity to go after UCLA’s all-time leader in touchdown passes and total offensive yards. Though Hundley will have to wait his turn behind Super Bowl Champion Aaron Rodgers, it will be a great learning experience in the meantime.

Un-Drafted Free Agent Update

More from nfl draft

There were a few other Bruins that did not get to hear their name called in the NFL Draft, but were able to get selected anyway.

After the draft was over, NFL teams had unrestricted access to go after any players that went up drafted and sign them. This included three UCLA Football players.

Malcom Bunche OL – Signs with the Philadelphia Eagles

Anthony Jefferson S – Signs with the Chicago Bears

Ellis McCarthy DL – Signs with the Miami Dolphins
