UCLA vs. Richmond prediction
While the UCLA Bruins did struggle at times against the pressure that Southern put on them, they settled in and showed why they were the top overall seed in the NCAA Tournament. With the dust shaken off, head coach Cori Close's team should be prepared to defend their home court and have another impressive win against the Spiders on Sunday.
The tallest player in Richmond's rotation is 6-foot-3, which will make star center Lauren Betts a difficult matchup for them. While they are paced by the Atlantic 10 Player of the Year in Maggie Doogan, who had an unbelievable performance against Georgia Tech the other night, the Spiders likely do not have enough depth to compete with the Bruins.
This game could be close for a while as UCLA struggles to get out of the gates, but eventually, the Bruins will wear them down. Close and her team will be heading back to the Sweet 16 for the third straight year, and this time, they'll have even more to prove.
