Johnny Juzang was a good player for UCLA in the 2020-21 season. Then March came around and he elevated himself to being a great player. He proved to be the best player on the UCLA roster and could score from anywhere on the floor. As you look back on the many years of the NCAA tournament. There are many great runs that players made, Juzang is up there with some of the best of them. He averaged 22.8 points per game in the six games including the First Four play in and did so on 51% shooting.

In the two most important games which included the Elite Eight versus Michigan and the Final Four against Gonzaga. He averaged 28.5 points on 62% shooting and did everything he could for the Bruins to pull off that massive upset against Gonzaga. His shot was falling and he could get whatever he wanted whenever he wanted. Showing his clutch genes as well in multiple games. It was truly special to watch his growth through that 2021 March run.

That UCLA team was not expected to do anything during that tournament. They were down double digits to Michigan State in the play in game and had their season on the ropes. Juzang helped lead them back in that game, even though he twisted his ankle. He had to recover quick and did so helping UCLA go on an incredible run that ended with a Jalen Suggs miracle shot. But we will never forget what all he accomplished in that March.

After that season, Juzang seemed poised to head off to the NBA. But with NIL now coming into place he decided to run it back and come back to UCLA for another season. They had a really good team that had a chance to make a championship run. But they would fall apart in the Sweet 16 against North Carolina and lose that game 73-66 before Juzang would head to the NBA. It didn’t end with the championship, but it was a very fun run to watch what he did at UCLA for two seasons. Especially the First Four to Final Four run.
