The No. 4 Bruins made easy work of Penn State on Wednesday to close out 2025 in style. In a game where UCLA won 97-61, they led from beginning to end and won all four quarters. They shot 53% from the floor and continued their great shooting for 3-point range as they shot 50%. They were able to hold Penn State to 44% shooting and 21% from 3-point land. UCLA is clicking on offense and defense and playing some of the best basketball in the nation.
Lauren Betts continued to play great basketball as she dropped 25 points for the game. She also hit a huge milestone as she surpassed 1,500 points in her college career. Continuing her ascent as one of the best women’s college basketball players. Her sister Sienna is getting more comfortable with each game she plays as well. She is considered the future of UCLA basketball, and she dropped 10 points. With at least seven players leaving after this season. Sienna and Lena Bilić will be building blocks for this team moving forward.

Gianna Kneepkens who has been talked about as being the best transfer in the nation. She continues to space the floor for the Bruins as she shot 5-7 on the night from 3-point range. Pouring in 17 points, and she is up to 46% from 3-point range and averaging 14.5 points per game. The Bruins were able to bring her in as a grad transfer and her fit has been seamless into the starting lineup.
UCLA will now head into a matchup with their crosstown rival in No. 17 USC on Saturday. USC sits at 10-3 on the season with two of their losses being against No. 1 UCONN and No. 3 South Carolina. They are led by star freshman Jazzy Davidson who leads the team in points, rebounds, assists, steals and blocks. She is one of the most talented players in the nation. UCLA will need to contain her and force others to beat them. UCLA with one of the toughest strengths of schedule will be up for the task as they try to move to 14-1.
