Bob Chesney continues to make waves at UCLA. As he picked up a commitment from 2027 four-star safety Khalil Terry. One day after decommitting from Notre Dame, UCLA was able to snatch him up and continue to build their 2027 class. The Bruins are now up to No. 19 in the nation in the 2027 recruiting class rankings. As they also picked up a commitment last week from another good safety in four-star Pole Moala.

This is a big recruiting win for Chesney. In recent years, it has been tough for UCLA to keep their in-state talent but to now pick up Terry out of Tustin shows that UCLA is trying to keep California players in California. There is a lot of good talent and Chesney is changing the culture at UCLA. This is a team that is going to start winning some big football games very soon. There will be a huge jump in 2026 and then 2027 his first full class should be phenomenal.

Terry should have a great senior season after two very good seasons in his sophomore and junior years. He has had four interceptions in each of the last two years. Which included 16 pass break ups this past season in his junior year of high school. He is able to fly around the field and be a playmaker. Also adding to his stats with 62 tackles. 247sports has him ranked as the No. 16 player in California and No. 19 safety nationally.

Bringing in Terry and Moala which are two California players ranked in the top 20 is a big time recruiting win. UCLA is focused on winning with their football program. They have a coach that players are fired up to play for. That changes a lot of things and it didn’t take long for them to get Terry after he decommitted from Notre Dame. The 2027 class will only continue to get better and better and possibly get into the top 10.
