Anthony Woods has been the most effective running back for the Bruins this year. But his status for Saturday's tilt with Maryland is up in the air. Woods was laboring in the Michigan State game and that allowed Jalen Berger to have a breakout performance. It was noted that Woods was not seen at practice this week with an injury only named as "undisclosed".

Woods has 43 carries for 222 yards on the season and has been a back that can lower his shoulder when needed to pick up tough yards. He is also a very capable pass catcher out of the backfield that can help Nico Iamaleava. As seen below he is responsible for the first touchdown on the season for the Bruins on a passing touchdown from Iamaleava.

If Woods is unable to go for the Maryland game it will be Berger stepping into a larger role again for the Bruins. Berger is more then capable of doing so but it is always better to have a number of running backs that can be interchangeable. Maryland has a great run defense and all hands-on deck will be needed to move UCLA's win streak to three. We will continue to monitor Woods status as it gets closer to kickoff for Maryland vs UCLA.
