UCLA closes out the regular season with another win over USC and finishes the season at 28-1. Which includes a perfect 18-0 record in Big Ten play and a 22 game overall winning streak. UCLA is only lost this season came early in the year in a tournament against Texas. Serving as a wake up call for them and every opponent since they have basically destroyed outside of a few matchups. They also have a country leading 10 ranked wins on the season.

UCLA did not shoot great on offense for the day in the 73-50 win as they were only 41%. But they did keep up their elite defense holding USC to only 39% shooting on the day. The best part being USC was only 3-19 from 3-point range. It has been fascinating to watch how good this UCLA defense has been this year. It will be their calling card in March. Once the schedule starts to tighten up in the NCAA tournament. They know they can go toe-to-toe with anybody with their defense.

Charlisse Leger-Walker led the Bruins and scoring on the day with 20 points. She has been great in her one and only season with UCLA after coming over as a grad transfer from Washington State. Her ability to rebound and pass has helped grow the game of Kiki Rice as well. Adding that extra pressure on defenses to account for. Gianna Kneepkens and Gabriela Jaquez each had 14 points apiece as well for the offense. That 14 helped Kneepkens hit the 2,000 career points mark as well.

Lauren Betts had an interesting game in her last regular season game at UCLA. She only had five points on the day, but she had 15 rebounds and blocked two shots to help the defense. The Bruins cap off an amazing regular season and now head towards the Big Ten tournament as the No. 1 seed. With most likely a No. 1 seed in the NCAA tournament as well. Let’s hope these women can end this season with a national championship!
