The UCLA women's basketball team kept things too close for comfort on Friday night against the Southern University Jaguars. Despite the massive seeding disparity, Southern was actually able to keep things close for a bit and make the Bruins uncomfortable at times during the game.

However, contrary to college basketball fans across the country, the UCLA faithful are still highly confident in their team after head coach Cori Close and the Bruins handled business in the first round.

One fan commented that the Bruins were too much for the Jaguars to handle, and whether it was true or not, that they felt the game was over after the first quarter.

Another fan commented on a recent ESPN story featuring Bruins star center Lauren Betts, and made it known that she was her favorite player and wants UCLA to take home the National Championship.

Some fans went beyond just hoping. One posted a gif from Green Lantern, which served as an indication that they felt the team was destined for a National Championship ring.

One fan spoke bluntly after the dominant victory and picked his winner for the March Madness tournament.

Fans also loved star center Lauren Betts' big block during the game, calling it both, "nasty" and "diabolical."

The Bruins will now take on the Richmond Spiders on Sunday at Pauley Pavilion on the UCLA campus. They'll have their hands full as the Spiders have several impressive wins and performances on their resume. Not to mention, they have one of the NCAA Tournament's best players on their team, junior forward Maggie Doogan.

UCLA will have to be a bit tighter with the ball on Sunday, as Richmond is a far superior opponent to Southern. They were too loose against the Jaguars on Friday but did not get punished for it, but they will against the Spiders. There is plenty for this team to clean up, but the most important part is that they survived and advanced.
