UCLA came into a matchup with North Carolina, fresh off of a ranked win versus Oklahoma. The schedule has been testing them early and they're clearing all hurdles. The Bruins who are ranked number three in the country went to Las Vegas and knocked off North Carolina 78-60. Easily covering the 12.5 point spread and continuing their run of being one of the most balanced and best teams in the nation.

UCLA is packed with talent and primed for a deep run with this team. Lauren Betts who is a candidate to be the best player in the nation, put up double double with 20 points and 10 rebounds, falling three assists shy of a triple double. Kiki Rice also had a double double with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Then Gabriela Jaquez chipped in with 12 points and eight rebounds. When the Bruins are getting that type of production, it is going to be very hard to beat them on a nightly basis.

Last year the Bruins cruised to the Final Four until they ran into UCONN ultimately losing 85-51. But this team is a year older, and every player has seemed to elevate their game thus far early in the season. That is the type of play that you need come March and the ability to bring players off the bench and help keep starters fresh. The chemistry amongst the girls is top notch.

The schedule will continue to be tough on the Bruins as they have number four Texas and number 12 Tennessee coming up in a few weeks. But with the roster the Bruins have they should be favorites in both of those games. As long as they keep playing the way they are. It is hard to imagine them as underdogs in any game. This is the team that has the chance to win it all this year, before almost this whole team graduates.
