UCLA Bruins play well in tune up game versus UC Irvine

UCLA Bruins meaningful basketball is getting closer and closer to beginning again. With a top-notch transfer portal class, the team looks ready to make a big leap in the Big Ten. Highlighted by star transfer Donovan Dent, UCLA also picked up Xavier Booker, Steven Jamerson II and Jamar Brown. All expected to play key roles for a team that had a disappointing year last season. This Bruins team can shoot the ball very well and run the floor. The team is also very excited to get going.

This UCLA team has expectations, one that includes a deep run in March. They are equipped with guys who can defend well and there will be ample scoring to go around. Tyler Bilodeau, Skyy Clark Brown and Dent all had tremendous games in the 94-64 win in the exhibition game versus UC Irvine. Players played unselfish basketball and were willing to make the extra pass. UCLA was up by 43 in the second half before removing all their main core players.

The Bruins in total shot 48% from the floor and their core of Dent, Bilodeau, Brown and Clark were 24-37 from the field for 61 points. Booker who was another key transfer from Michigan State chipped in for 14 points on 5-11 shooting. The team was in control throughout the game and has proven that the chemistry is already starting to build despite not playing together much in game situations. Brown will likely move to the bench again when Eric Dailey Jr. returns from injury.

This is a very important season for Mick Cronin. He has had some Sweet 16 runs and even a Final Four run. But has not made it to the big game. UCLA has all the pieces in place to try and make that happen. First regular season game is November 3rd to kick it off!
