The day started off very rough for the UCLA Bruins. The first play of the game resulted in a sack and then the second play of the game was a pick 6 for Indiana. After that it just continued downfall for the Bruins. Indiana flew around on defense and won almost every matchup at every level and Nico Iamaleava was only effective when rolling out. As UCLA offensive players did not have time to get open after being jammed at the line of scrimmage for most of the day.

The only time UCLA was able to get momentum was when they got good pressure on Fernando Mendoza. Keanu Williams was able to win his block and force a tipped pass. Scooter Jackson came up with his second interception in as many games. UCLA would then stall out and have a fake punt sniffed out.

We mentioned earlier in the week that UCLA could not afford the slow start that they did against Maryland. As they would never be able to recover with how explosive Indiana's offense is. They have multiple NFL caliber guys in Mendoza, Elijah Sarratt and Roman Hemby. They easily won their matchups all day long. UCLA defense played great on first and second down but ultimately Indiana went 14-18 on third and fourth down with many of them being in 3rd and 6 and longer.

56-6 is not the result that was wanted. UCLA was clearly outmatched from the start of the game. But it is not time to hit the panic button. Indiana is a great team and will be in the College Football Playoff. UCLA still has an uphill battle but if they can beat Nebraska, Washington and USC. This season can still be a success by going to a bowl game after starting the season 0-4.
