Tyler Tejada is a talented wing player that hit the transfer portal out of Towson. He has one year of eligibility remaining and averaged 17.7 points per game last season. He spent all three seasons of his college career at Towson and is now looking to finish out his senior year with a new school. Tejada shot 43.2% from the field last season but struggled for consistency with his outside shot.

Tejada shot 29.1% from 3-point range on 4.6 attempts per game. But the positive is he has shown that he can hit that shot. His freshman year, he was 35.2% shooter on 3-pointers on 3.7 attempts per game. Possibly a faster game in an offense that moves the ball more would be great for him. Allowing him to get back to his ways of being able to hit the long range shots.

Tejada’s main position is guard. Which standing at 6’9 makes him one of the tallest players in the nation at that position. But he is considered a wing and could slide in perfectly in this offense at the small forward position. As the team looks to rearrange their starting lineup by moving Eric Dailey Jr. back to the four. That is where they had their most success late in the season and ultimately saved their NCAA tournament hopes.

There are many players that have hit the transfer portal that will command large NIL value. Tejada figures to be a player that could come in and not be a high dollar amount. UCLA has not shown their hand on how much they’re willing to put up. Mick Cronin did make a joke that he would like $5 million more to build his roster. It remains to be seen if that’s something that will be seriously considered to retool this team.
