Tamar Singer out of the Miami of Ohio is a talented two-way guard that hit the transfer portal. She could be a good option for a UCLA team that is looking to replenish their starting lineup. She’s a small guard at 5’4 but she is a crafty one that can pass and defend. With averages of 6.9 assists and 2.6 steals per game last season, she ranked near the top of the nation in each of those categories. Proving she could be a good plug in and play option for Cori Close.

Singer does turn the ball over at a high rate of 4.1 per game last season. But getting into a new offensive system could help unlock her potential even more. UCLA has a really good offensive system and Close adjusts her team very well. She will be tasked with having to replace her top six players. With many players in the transfer portal, it gives her a big opportunity to rebuild this team pretty fast.
Lena Bilić and Sienna Betts seemed to be the top two options to build around. Then you have other players who could be ready to step up such as Amanda Muse. The Bruins also have a ton of supporters around them that are excited about UCLA basketball. Fresh off of a national championship win they want to keep the momentum rolling.

Kiki Rice was one of the best guards in the nation this past season. She has the opportunity to be a top five pick in this WNBA Draft. You simply won’t 100% replace what she did with UCLA, but you can build enough pieces to replicate some of that success. Singer will give you a really good passer at the point guard position and play tough defense. What two years of eligibility remaining you hope that you can help fix her turnover rate in a more efficient offense.
