Skyy Clark last played a game for UCLA on January 3 against Iowa. He has now been out for over a month with little to report on when he may return. He has been listed as questionable in multiple games but yet to return. UCLA is in need of his scoring but will want to do so on the side of caution with his health in mind. Hamstrings are very tricky and can easily be re-injured. Even with a three-game stretch on deck against top 10 teams, Clark will not be rushed to return for it.
There has been talks of Clark petitioning to play another season as well. With him being injured his freshman season at Illinois. That gives him the opportunity to play one more season with UCLA next year. Which will most likely be granted and giving UCLA a good building block next year. With Donovan Dent and Tyler Bilodeau on the way out. Trent Perry pairing with Clark would give them a great back court to build off of.
.@calpostbbolch asked Mick Cronin if #UCLA senior Skyy Clark would try for another year of eligibility.

“Yes.”
Why?

UCLA bench play has taken a drastic hit since Trent Perry is now a starter
UCLA has been a mixed bag of results this season. But Clark has been one of their best players. He is one of the most efficient shooters in the nation and plays good defense. Perry has been able to emerge as a good starter in his place. But without Clark the Bruins are playing a very dangerous game with their bench. They are receiving no production in terms of points from many players. With their starters often scoring 95% of their points. Putting heavy minutes on them as we start to tick into the last part of the season.
Trent Perry came into this game with 47/41/85 shooting splits. Tonight he's had a low-volume night (2-3 FG, 1-1 3FG, 0-0 FT) but he's growing into a mandatory re-sign for #UCLA this offseason...

Clark’s return will be welcome with open arms whenever that may be. Some suspect that he might’ve had a setback in his recovery. As he has been off and on in terms of practicing. Mick Cronin is never the best when it comes to updates. So, many will continue to wait to see what the decision on him may be. Starting with tonight against Washington the positive is there is video footage of Clark practicing but doesn’t give us much in terms of how far along he is.
