Andre Jordan Jr. is another defensive back along with Scooter Jackson that hit the transfer portal this offseason. He led the Bruins with 10 passes defensed and made some big plays at times. The UCLA defense was shredded this season and had so much turnover. Which made it hard for players to find consistency and be able to make big plays. A constant issue was the defensive line not being able to pressure the quarterback. Playing in the Big Ten, this is a recipe for disaster as teams can air the ball out at an astronomical pace.

Jordan Jr. spent two seasons at Oregon State in 2023 and 2024 and was part of a large transfer class for Deshaun Foster. As Foster now had a full offseason to bring in his own recruiting class. There was reason for excitement as the 2024 team finished 5-7 and looked to play decent football down the stretch with a few upsets. But that quickly went sour as UCLA started 0-3 on the season with embarrassing losses to UNLV and New Mexico. Which then led to the dismissal of Foster as head coach.

Jordan Jr. was one of the big heroes in the Maryland win as he seemed to be all over the field that night. As the Bruins were in the midst of taking the college football world by storm and on a three-game win streak. He was the second-best defensive back the Bruins had behind Rodrick Pleasant. He was the second defensive back to hit the portal following the news of Scooter Jackson as well. So, Bob Chesney will have a lot of positions to replace as players now brace for a new coach that didn't sign or recruit them.

Jordan Jr. will be able to latch on somewhere as he was a Big Ten conference honorable mention defensive back. He has the versatility to help a defensive coordinator that is looking to move someone around the field. It is possible Jordan Jr. could return to UCLA but similar to Jackson, you need all the cards to line up so it is considered a long shot.
