Zach Charbonnet had a dominating 2022 season running the ball. Helping carry the UCLA backfield. He was one of the toughest players in the nation to bring down and catapulted himself into the NFL Draft following that season. In 2022 he ran the ball 195 times for 1,359 yards and 14 touchdowns. That was good for 7 yards per carry. He also added 37 catches for 321 yards through the air proving to be an all-around back. The Seattle Seahawks took him with the 52nd pick in the 2023 draft.

Charbonnet spent two seasons at UCLA. After being at Michigan for two seasons as well. He transferred to UCLA to be under Chip Kelly’s run heavy offense. It worked wonders for his college career. As the move allowed him to be high on draft boards. He mixed great power with good breakaway speed, combining to be an every down back when needed. Although once he got to the NFL, he had to split carries with Kenneth Walker III.
Charbonnet ran for 2496 yards and 27 touchdowns in his two years for UCLA. In that 2022 season, he ran for at least 78 yards in every single game he played in. Including six straight with at least 100 yards and hitting the century mark in eight of his 10 games. Consistency at its finest. There was no game that season that he ran for under five yards per carry. He was that good and teams had trouble bringing him down at 6’1 and 220 pounds.

Charbonnet is a big contributor to the Seahawks. Who have been the best team in the NFC this season with the number one seed. He has 546 yards on the ground and nine touchdowns. Whenever he gets the ball on the goal line, you expect him to punch it in. He is that good when in short yardage. College or NFL it’s almost a given that he will get you that one yard. 2022 was a fun season to watch him power the UCLA offense. Now getting to watch him represent UCLA at the next level.
