Ranking the remaining six “Blue Blood” programs, Part 2
By Ryan Kay
UCLA is by all definitions, a true "Blue Blood" college basketball program.
The UCLA Bruins set a new record for most NCAA titles with eleven championships, which they won in an unprecedented seven-year stretch from 1967 to 1973. In addition to winning 32 league titles, they've been to the Final Four 18 times.
John Wooden, the famous and admired coach of the UCLA Bruins, oversaw their best run of success. In twelve seasons, Wooden led the Bruins to ten fantastic national wins, including four straight years without losing a game. Many sports fans and writers think he is the best college basketball coach ever.
Bill Walton, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Jamaal Wilkes, and Reggie Miller are some of the most famous people to have played at UCLA. These players helped UCLA and college basketball become well-known nationwide for nearly three decades.
