When does UCLA's season start? Key times and dates to remember over the next week

Week zero is near, and let's take a look at the Bruins's first upcoming football game and more.

It isn't easy to fathom that the UCLA Bruins season commences before Labor Day. The previous eight-win season, which included a bowl victory and a victory over USC, was considered a success on paper. However, UCLA fans are hungry for more.

UCLA is not projected to win a ton of games but with a new coaching staff and now being in the Big Ten, fans are excited for the football season to start.

When does UCLA's season commence?

On August 31, at 4:30 p.m., the Bruins will commence their season on the road at the Clarence T.C. Ching Complex. The weather in Hawaii is anticipated to be ideal for the game. DeShaun Foster, the new head coach of UCLA, has been preparing his players for the season opener.

Sept. 14 — Indiana (4:30 p.m., NBC)

When does the college football season officially begin?

This Saturday, August 24, the inaugural game of the 2024 college football schedule will be played in Ireland. Two ACC rivals, Florida State and Georgia Tech, will compete at Aviva Stadium in Dublin. ESPN will broadcast the game at 10 a.m. PT.

What are the other notable Week Zero games?

There are only a few other FBS vs. FBS games in week zero other than the Seminoles and Yellow Jackets game in Ireland. SMU is playing at Nevada, but the Mustangs are big favorites in that game on Saturday night. Hawaii, which is the Bruins season opener opponent, is hosting FCS school Delaware

Games on Thursday, August 29.

NC State, ranked 24th, will host Western Carolina at 4 p.m. Murray State will play at 5 p.m. against Missouri, which is ranked 11th. At 5 p.m., Lindenwood will face off against Kansas,  ranked 22nd. Southern Utah will play against Utah,  ranked 12th, at 6 p.m. North Carolina travels to Minnesota for the prime-time game on Fox.

Games on Friday, August 30.

Florida Atlantic travels to play Michigan State at 4 p.m., and Western Michigan goes to Wisconsin for a 6 p.m. game. The prime-time game is TCU traveling to play Stanford, and that game will be on ESPN.
