UCLA Football and Basketball early summer news

In case you missed it, there has been a lot of news for UCLA basketball and football in the month of June.

Here is a look at the news surrounding UCLA football and basketball this summer.

Fox Sports research department has given UCLA basketball a great recruiting tool as they ranked the Bruins basketball program as the No. 1 college basketball program in developing NBA players.

CBS Sports announced that UCLA will play North Carolina in the battle of two "Blue Bloods" programs as they will face off against the Tar Heels in the CBS Sports Classic in the legendary Madison Square Garden Arena on December 21st.

Jon Rothstein a college basketball analyst for CBS Sports reported that UCLA basketball out of all of the Big Ten teams for the 2024-25 season, that the Bruins has the highest percentage of scorers who are returning for this season.

CBS Sports also put out a list that includes UCLA basketball as the No. 1 basketball program to have one a NBA championship that have played in at least on postseason NBA playoff game.

Now let's take a look at the happenings of UCLA football in the month of June.

UCLA football legend Milt Davis will be inducted in the UCLA Athletic Hall of Fame on Sept. 13.

CBS Sports in the best case scenario says that UCLA under first year head coach DeShaun Foster getting to a bowl game due to their "brutal" schedule in 2024 is their best predictable outcome. CBS Sports has given the UCLA basketball program much recognition and praise this summer but not so much in comparison to the Bruin football program.

SI.com as part of their 100 bold predictions for the 2024 NFL season is predicting that some former UCLA Bruins will have outstanding seasons in the NFL this coming season.

The No. 34 prediction is that former UCLA wide receiver Jake Bobo will have at least five touchdown catches for the Seattle Seahawks this season. The biggest and bold prediction involving a former Bruin goes to No. 53 on the list that states Indianapolis Colts DE Laiatu Latu will win the Defensive Rookie of the Year award.
