People have been busy this past week with many people celebrating the holidays but UCLA continued to make news this week and let's begin to take a look at some of the highlights of this past week.

The UCLA women's basketball team which is currently undefeated at 11-0 and ranked No. 2 in the country announced that their game against USC is sold out. The Trojans are also unbeaten at 10-0 and ranked No. 6 in the country so this should be an amazing game between two city rivals on Saturday.

Former UCLA basketball star Jaime Jaquez Jr. had amazing game on Christmas day as he scored 31 points in helping the Miami Heat defeat the Philadelphia Sixers. He has scored in double digits in four of his last five games and it is apparent he may have been the steal of the 2023 NBA draft.

The UCLA and Boise State football game was announced this week as the most watched bowl game for the first week of college football bowl games. The game easily beat the Texas Tech vs. Cal game in viewership and proved once again that UCLA football is a nationally recognized football program.

UCLA continues to buy more land, buildings, and property and no one truly knows what the university will do with its new acquisitions of late. The university bought the former Marymount California campus in Rancho Palos Verdes in September of 2022 and in June, UCLA purchased the historic Trust Building in June of this year as well.
