1. 2457. UCLA and Cal Rivalry. . . . . sfdsfsdfsdfds. .

The rivalry that was referred to as the Bear Bowl by certain fans that was played during All-University Weekend. One of the two ongoing rivalries in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) of NCAA Division I college football, the Cal-UCLA rivalry is currently the second-longest in college football history but that streak will unfortunately come to an end in 2024 as they will not play one another in football.

Not only will UCLA lose this treasured rivalry the UC Regents Panel approved UCLA's $10 million yearly payment to Cal-Berkeley to make up for lost revenue for at least three years as the Bruins are joining the Big Ten officially in August.

The two schools are roughly 350 miles apart but both schools are part of the 10 campuses of the University of California system that began in 1869. The two universities have played 93 times, with UCLA leading the all-time series 57-35-1. The rivalry started in 1933 with a 0-0 draw in the first meeting between the two teams. eight of the previous eleven meetings have been won by the Bruins, including the season-ending 35-28 triumph in 2022.

The Bruins have prevailed in seven of the previous ten meetings between these two universities in this rivalry. UCLA has defeated Cal in three of the previous five meetings in this rivalry. UCLA has won three of the last four metings between these two universities, but Cal will essentially end this rivalry with a one-game winning streak having defeated the Golden Bears last season.

For those who don't know much about it, the football rivalry between California and UCLA is one of the biggest and most intense in college football. Unexpectedly, the rivalry has also been known to lead to heated arguments before games; nonetheless, sportsmanship is still a defining characteristic of the rivalry. The two schools have worked together for a very long time and have regularly helped one another out when things have been tough. However, this rivalry on the football field will be coming to an end unless they meet in a bowl game at the end of the 2024 season.
