Projecting UCLA's Football rivals in the Big Ten
By Ryan Kay
One of college football's most intense and intriguing rivalry is between USC and UCLA. Overstating or hyping it is unnecessary as both Los Angeles schools are about ten miles apart and it is seen as one of the most underrated rivalries in college football.
Now, the Big Ten Conference and college football fans nationwide look forward to the annual game between the two schools because it is one of the season's most anticipated Big Ten games.
USC and UCLA have played 91 times since their football programs for each school began. Last season was the most recent game between these two city of Los Angeles rivals. The Trojans have the best Bruins thus far in the rivalry holding a 50–7-34 edge.
Last season, UCLA beat USC 38–20 in a somewhat surprising road victory, but the game is a toss-up almost every time these two teams meet on the football field.
This game between these two schools is often called "The Victory Bell Battle." This rivalry has a long, storied history with many interesting facts and tidbits about it.
The fact that both schools are in Los Angeles makes this rivalry even more interesting for those unaware of its rarity. Since neither team is a visitor, they wear their home uniforms which makes this rivalry even that more unique.
This rivalry will even get more attention as Big Ten fans who did not follow it, will more likely follow and know more about it, especially if both teams are vying for a Big Ten title in the years to come. USC is easily UCLA's number one rivalry and that will not change in the future.
