Going back to 1954, both teams won three games against one another in this rivalry. These two teams have played one another three times in the Rose Bowl game at the end of their seasons.

UCLA has a three-game winning streak in this rivalry, having won the last three games between these universities. Michigan State won the first three times they played one another.

UCLA defeated Michigan State at home by a final score of 56-14 at the last meeting between both institutions back in 1974.

These two fanbases have more in common than they may think, creating a more friendly but good rivalry between the two football programs. Historically speaking, these two teams have played one another in some crucial games, such as the ones they faced against one another in 1954, 1956, and 1966.

UCLA travels to Michigan State to play the Spartans next season to potentially rekindle this historic rivalry.
