Brett Decker Jr. was another name to enter into the transfer portal on Monday. This was a big addition to the portal as Decker Jr. Is one of the best shooters in the country. Any school he goes to he will immediately help out their spacing. The Liberty guard who will be a junior next year shot 47.1% from deep last season and did so on 7.1 attempts per game. An outstanding number and shows he can shoot with the best of them in the country.

Decker ranked as the second-best 3-point shooter in college basketball as a sophomore behind only Milan Momcilovic, hitting 114 3s at a 47% clip. pic.twitter.com/5DDZYjORkt
Decker Jr. Will have a ton of interest from big schools. You cannot underestimate the fact how much basketball has become a shooters game. These teams are firing up 3-pointers at an astronomical rate. Now you have a player that can do it with the best of them sitting there in the transfer portal. He is a name that UCLA should make a play for him even with many teams interested in his services.
UCLA was one of the best shooting teams in the nation last year, but didn’t shoot enough. Now you could have an opportunity to bring in the guy that is not shy to shoot the 3-point shot. Also allows for more spacing to make the floor less congested. We saw how good UCLA was when Dent could put his head down and drive to the basket. If Trent Perry returns to this team, and the spacing that Decker Jr. could provide that is fun to think about.

At 6’3 190lb, Brett was one of the best shooters in the entire country. Has added much more to his game off the dribble as well. From Elizabethtown KY, don’t be surprised to see a ton of high… pic.twitter.com/M4CkFkjST5
Decker Jr. averaged 16.9 points per game this last season doing so on shooting splits of 49.9/47.1/84.8. That is elite on every level from the guard position. As soon as transfers are able to sign with teams it shouldn’t take long for his name to be off the market. That type of production is something that is going to help the team in an NCAA tournament chase next season. Hopefully UCLA is a part of that process.
