UCLA played one of their most complete games of the season in their easy win over the Tennessee Volunteers. Winning by 22 in a score of 99-77. Which was their highest point total so far of the season. They’re now 3-1 against top 15 opponents this season. Showing their will to bounce back from their tough loss against Texas. UCLA shot 58% on the day and a blistering 10-17 from 3-point range. Clicking on all cylinders on offense and rolling to a win, even with Lauren Betts having a quiet day.

Gabriela Jaquez continued her hot streak as she led all scorers with 29 points. She shot 10-14 from the floor and 5-6 from 3-point range. She is averaging 26 points per game over her last two games after struggling against Texas. Kiki Rice poured in 20 on the day and Gianna Kneepkens continued her great start with 19 points. This Bruins team is very deep in the rotation. They can get 20 points from six different players on any given night. That is the depth you need as the season chugs along as there will be injuries dealt with. Such as the one Betts is battling through.

The Bruins really broke Tennessee in transition as they were able to force 20 turnovers. While being able to turn those 20 turnovers into 29 points. Completely flipping the script on a Tennessee team that is known for turning their opponents over. It was a good turnaround from the Texas game where UCLA forced passes and played careless basketball. Leading to Texas jumping out of the gates and never looking back until a late UCLA run in the fourth quarter.

UCLA now moves to 8-1 on the season. They will get a week off before playing their next game on Sunday, December 7th against Oregon. It will be a good rest for the team to get back to full health. As they have had one of the toughest strengths of schedule so far. They have more Big Ten ranked opponents left on the schedule. So, any rest they can get is good!
