No. 3 UCLA picked up another top 25 win on Saturday. Dismantling No. 12 Maryland with ease in route to a 97-67 victory and continuing their impressive start to the season. They’re now 17-1 on the season with seven top 25 wins and winning them convincingly in most cases. The Bruins only blemish on the season was a loss to No. 4 Texas earlier in the season. A game in which Lauren Betts was hurt and UCLA struggled most of the day.

UCLA continued to play great defense against Maryland. They held them to 37% shooting for the game. Well, also continuing their great perimeter defense forcing them to 6-23 from 3-point range. The Bruins also played great offense by shooting 63% as a team. Which included 13-23 from 3-point range. Gianna Kneepkens was 4-7 from deep and is now shooting 50% or better from 3-point range in 11 of her last 13 games. As she proves to possibly be the best shooter in the nation.

Gabriela Jaquez led Bruins starters with 22 points as she continues her rise onto WNBA Draft boards. The team continues to play with elite chemistry on both ends of the floor. Charlisse Leger-Walker almost had a triple double with 17 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists. As it seems to be each night a new player is stepping up to lead the charge. The women have eight players who could lead the team in scoring on any given night.

At 17-1, UCLA will now get matchups with Purdue and Northwestern. Before getting another top 25 matchup with Illinois next Sunday. This might be the best team the women have ever had at UCLA. It continues to be the best window for them to win a championship. They have one of the best offenses in the nation to pair with one of the best defenses in the nation. That is once in a decade opportunity.
