In the midst of a season where UCLA is struggling. Mick Cronin seems to be fed up with having to answer media questions. That came full circle. Once the media session started after their loss to Michigan State. Cronin confronted reporters about a few questions that were asked to him and made it known that he did not appreciate the questions. In a game that Xavier Booker returned to Michigan State, Cronin did not care about the chants from fans.

UCLA currently sits at 17-9 on the season, with Illinois on the schedule for Saturday. The patience has seemed to run thin, and the team now has their backs against the wall. This has led to frustration among Cronin and he has responded with how he truly feels in multiple media sessions this season. Becoming a meme and social media sensation. With some saying he is doing his best to get fired now that he has a contract extension through 2030.
UCLA has gone from 12th best odds to win the NCAA championship at the beginning of the season. To now in jeopardy of not even being in the NCAA tournament. It has been a down slide all season and they will need to figure things out to over the next few weeks to try and scrape their hopes together. We have not heard any grumblings from the team other than Cronin‘s press conferences. So, there seems to be no disgruntled players in the limelight. But we don’t know what is going on behind the scenes.

Cronin figures to be the subject of more media sessions over the last five games of the season. They have started to make for must watch TV. As he is always seeming to make a quote that will be talked about. If they are able to beat Illinois, it will be interesting to see what he has to say. If they lose to Illinois, we might be on track for a generational press conference. Whether he talks about Big Ten scheduling or the NCAA tournament isn’t will be intriguing for everyone.
