Maryland vs UCLA first half quick analysis

Maryland and UCLA have playerd 30 minutes of football. UCLA struggles to get the offense going on the first few drives of the game. Maryland shows why they have one of the best all around defenses in the country. The offensive line was having trouble keeping Nico protected and Maryland was taking advantage.

UCLA defense returned the favor by playing great on the first drive. On the second drive, Maryland drove right down the field for 91 yards before being stopped. UCLA comes out with a win on the possession by only giving up a field goal.

Anthony Frias II breaks open the scoring with a 55 yard touchdown run to take a 7-3 lead for the Bruins. He saw a crease and even got a good block from the referee and it was all daylight ahead.

Maryland started to drive before the half and UCLA got a huge forced fumble to stall their drive. UCLA then turned the ball right back over as they were driving down the field. Teams seem to be trading bad plays for bad plays.

There is definitely room for growth to open up the offense more in the second half. Malik Washington will not be contained the entire game. UCLA will need to take advantage if they want to win this game and extend their winning streak to three games.
