Kwazi Gilmer was averaging 68 yards per contest for the games against, UNLV, New Mexico, Northwestern and Penn State. His routes looked crisp and he had touchdown catches in the Northwestern and Penn State game. But it regressed in the Michigan State game as he was only able to haul in two catches for nine yards.
UCLA did go run heavy as they led early out of the gate and pulled away, but with a closer matchup expected versus Maryland today. Jerry Neuheisel will need to find ways to get his top receiver the ball and be able to make plays. He had been creating a very nice connection with star QBNico Iamaleava. He has the ability to get behind the defense in a flash for big play ability.
The Bruins have made it a game.

Against Penn State, Gilmer was very impressive catching five passes for 79 yards. Against a defense that will always have guys in NFL draft talks, it was a good show to put on in the upset at the Rose Bowl. His touchdown catch also showed pure will and determination to get into the end zone that day.
UCLA is on the board first! What an effort from Kwazi Gilmer. pic.twitter.com/XPO3lUWNrv

We expect Gilmer to get right back on track today and Neuheisel to show he can make adjustments for his players. This will not only help Gilmer but help silence any critics that may still be left out there if the magical run can continue on offense.
Prediction: 6 catches 91 yards and a touchdown.
