UCLA heads home for a week 11 matchup against the Nebraska Cornhuskers. UCLA will get their second bye week of the season in week 10. It is much needed after an embarrassing 56-6 loss against the second ranked Indiana Hoosiers. UCLA was simply outplayed on offense, defense and special teams. While also being thoroughly outcoached by Curt Cignetti and his staff.

Let's get the facts out of the way. It was going to take a miracle effort for UCLA to beat Indiana. They were 25.5 point underdogs for a reason. The game was in Bloomington and the Hoosiers are on a mission. They have a real shot to win the College Football Playoff and even have an undefeated season. There wasn't much positive game tape that the Bruins are going to watch from that game. It is going to be hard to stomach plays that players were beat on or couldn't get separation.

Onto the positive aspect of things. Nebraska is a very winnable game. They started the season 5-1 under Matt Rhule and even cracked the top 25. Before an embarassing loss to Minnesota pushed them right back out and and to 6-2 on the season. Nebraska will face USC this weekend, before making the trip to Pasadena to play the Bruins at the Rose Bowl. Nebraska offense averages 31.6 points per game which is 36th in the nation, while the defense has been solid giving up 21.4 points, good for 31st in the nation.

There have been rumors of Rhule taking another job after this season. So, he has every right to continue trying to get his Nebraska team to win if he is looking for an upgrade to his current situation. There are going to be teams and boosters with big pockets ready to get a high-class name into their building. Could Rhule be that guy for a team like Florida?

However the cards may fall, one thing is simple. UCLA needs to flush the Indiana game down the drain. They played bad and did not show up on Big Noon Kickoff. This team can still pull off a few upsets and make a bowl game. It is an uphill battle to win three more games but it is not impossible. it all starts with a win in week 11 versus the Cornhuskers.
