UCLA will face Iowa tomorrow in a matchup of top 10 teams. Iowa, regardless of the outcome will likely drop out of the top 10 after their upset loss to USC. But all in all it will still be considered a top 10 matchup since new rankings will not come out until Monday. UCLA looks to finish out their first week at No. 2 in the rankings with another win. They recently passed South Carolina in the rankings this past Monday to be in the slot behind undefeated UCONN. UCLA sits at 20-1 on the season and atop the Big Ten at 10-0 in the conference.

The Bruins will need to continue to play elite defensively. While they work their way through struggling with their jump shot. It was bound to happen at some point as they were shooting the lights out of the gym. But when you have such an elite team you can win games in multiple ways. The last two games have been done by their intensity on defense. Once they get their shot back, that will elevate them into another level. Combining both offense and defense is something that this team is capable of and has shown this season.

The Bruins only loss on the season came against Texas. It was their roughest game that they have played this year. They easily could be 21-0 if they were able to shoot the ball better that day. But it was a good wake up call for them, and they have completely blown every team out of the water since then. Sometimes that is all a team needs to make a championship push. Undefeated season would be cool to see, but as long as you can win a championship that is the cream of the crop.

Iowa has a top-heavy roster of only three players averaging double digits. If you can contain Ava Heiden and Hannah Stuelke, you will cruise to a win. The positive thing is UCLA has been able to take out their opponents best player for most of the season. That has led to their big victories. They will be able to do the same on Sunday and move to 21-1 on the season. Adding to their strong strength of schedule victories.
