Jackson Shelstad has spent his three college seasons at Oregon. He is a talented scoring guard that has battled injuries in his college career. Including this past season where he had a wrist injury that limited him to 12 games. There were reports that he will look to make it a red shirt year. Which would allow him the opportunity to have two more seasons of eligibility. He entered the transfer portal and becomes a player that will be highly sought after as he is very good when healthy.

Over the course of his career at Oregon he has played in 79 total games and averaged 13.6 points per game. Showing that he is a player that can put the ball in the basket and be a playmaker for a team. That is something that the Bruins really need to address through the transfer portal with talent going out. This is a team that has two straight round of 32 exits and needs to get things figured out quickly. Talent needs to come in and gel with the players that are returning.
Shelstad can shoot the 3-point ball as he has shot 35.2% for his career. In 2025 he did not have the best season of his career efficiency wise. But he battled the wrist injury before ultimately shutting it down on December 28. His field goal percentage dropped from 45% to 39%. Although he averaged a career high 15.6 points per game it was not as efficient as his freshman and sophomore years. The talent is all there, and if the health follows, this will be a player that will make waves in college basketball.

College basketball teams know that as well and there will be a lot of potential suitors for him. UCLA figures to put their name into a few transfer portal players. Shelstad should definitely be one of them. He will be a guy that can help you on the offensive end and one that will buy in on defense. Last season he averaged 1.4 steals per game. UCLA is known to have guards that can play both ends of the floor. Shelstad could step in and be a player like that. Hopefully with two years of eligibility and not just one.
